Design, Edit, Mix: The Sound of THE SUBSTANCE

In cooperation with the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), SoundTrack_Zurich will present on Friday, October 3, 2025, a comprehensive programme featuring the sound team of the successful hit THE SUBSTANCE.

The day will open with an in-depth case study panel on THE SUBSTANCE. Victor Fleurant (sound designer and sound editor), Lucien Richardson (supervising dialogue editor), Stephane Thiébaut (re-recording mixer) and Victor Praud (foley recordist and re-recording mixer) will share insights into their creative and technical process, highlighting how they shaped the film’s distinctive sonic identity.

In the afternoon, participants can dive deeper into the craft with two workshops: A mixing workshop with Stéphane Thiébaut and Victor Praud will explore strategies for balancing sound elements and enhancing storytelling through mixing techniques. In addtion, a sound design and dialogue editing workshop with Victor Fleurant and Lucien Richardson, will focus on practical approaches to creating immersive soundscapes and polishing dialogue.

This unique programme offers professionals, students, and sound enthusiasts the opportunity to learn directly from leading experts in film sound.
