SoundTrack_Zurich (28.09. – 01.10.21) präsentiert in seiner zweiten Ausgabe über 30 Events - darunter Talks mit renommierten Komponist*innen, Case Studies zu aktuellen Film- und Serienhits, Matchmaking- und Networking Sessions sowie Special Screenings und Konzerte mit dem Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich.
Ehrengast ist Mychael Danna (Oscar für „Life of Pi“), der im Rahmen des 17. Zurich Film Festival den Career Achievement Award erhält.

Film Composer Talk Mychael Danna
Ehrengast von SoundTrack_Zurich ist Mychael Danna (Oscar für „Life of Pi“), der im Rahmen des 17. Zurich Film Festival den Career Achievement Award erhält. Der Kanadier wird am Mittwoch, 29.09. auf der SoundTrack_Zurich über sein Lebenswerk sprechen. Danna, der den Jury-Vorsitz des 9. Internationalen Filmmusikwettbewerbs übernommen hat, wird zudem am Donnerstag, 30.9. bei der Preisverleihung in der Tonhalle Zürich anwesend sein.

Film Composer Talk Volker Bertelmann aka Hauschka
Volker Bertelmann aka Hauschka hat bereits zu zahlreichen Kinoproduktionen und Serien die Musik beigesteuert, etwa zu „Your Honor‟ (2020) oder dem Science-Fiction-Thriller „Stowaway‟ (2021). Seinen Arbeitsprozess wird Hauschka am Donnerstag, 30.9. auf einem Panel der SoundTrack_Zurich Revue passieren lassen, am Freitag, 1.10 wird er außerdem an einer Case Study zu „Monte Verità“ teilnehmen.

Lele Marchitelli ist u.a. durch seine Zusammenarbeit mit dem preisgekrönten Regisseur Paolo Sorrentino (ZFF A Tribute to…. Award 2021) bekannt geworden. Zu seinen Sky/HBO-Serien „The Young Pope“ und „The New Pope“ präsentiert SoundTrack_Zurich eine Case Study mit Marchitelli.

Das erfolgreiche Komponisten-Trio Diego Baldenweg mit Nora Baldenweg & Lionel Baldenweg hat u.a. den Score für über 20 Filme verfasst („Die kleine Hexe“, „Head Full of Honey“). SoundTrack_Zurich präsentiert ein Panel mit den Geschwistern, die in diesem Jahr auch das neue Audio-Branding für das Zurich Film Festival komponiert haben.    
Am Donnerstag, 30.9. werden sie bei der Filmmusikwettbewerb-Preisverleihung in der Tonhalle Zürich mit einem Baldenweg Filmmusik-Medley geehrt.

Case Study Monte Verità
Das Schweizer Drama „Monte Verità“ (2021) premierte dieses Jahr auf dem Filmfestival Locarno. Komponist Hauschka, Regisseur Stefan Jäger, Sounddesignerin & Tonmischerin Gina Keller und Tonmeister Reto Stamm werden auf der SoundTrack_Zurich in einer Case Study über ihre gemeinsame Arbeit an dem Historiendrama sprechen.
In Kooperation mit SSFV (Schweizer Syndikat Film und Video) und ZHdK (Zürcher Hochschule der Künste).

Case Study The Billion Dollar Code
In einer Case Study sprechen die Komponisten Uwe Bossenz und Anton Feist mit Regisseur und Autor Robert Thalheim, Autor Oliver Ziegenbalg, Produzent Andreas Banz und Music Supervisor Milena Fessmann über ihr neuestes Projekt, die Netflix-Serie „The Billion Dollar Code“. Die Serie wird am 17. Zurich Film Festival als Weltpremiere gezeigt. (Freitag, 1. Oktober um 15.30 Uhr, Kino Kosmos 6 – der Eintritt ist frei, ein Ticket wird zum Einlass benötigt.)

Case Study Burning Memories
Regie, Drehbuch, Produktion und Score: Alice Schmid hat viele Säulen der Dokumentation „Burning Memories“ getragen – in diesem intimen Werk befasst sie sich mit ihrer eigenen Missbrauchsgeschichte. Für ihre Arbeit wurde sie mit dem Schweizer Filmpreis 2021 für die Beste Filmmusik auszeichnet. Schmid wird auf der SoundTrack_Zurich in einer Case Study über ihre Arbeit sprechen.

Wer teilnehmen will, schickt seine Hi-Res.mp3 Dateien bis zum 26.09. an presse@soundtrackzurich.com (maximal drei Tracks pro Teilnehmer*in). Die Tracks sollen entweder entschieden geeignet sein als Production Music für TV-Beiträge und Dokumentationen oder als „additional Music“ bzw. Internationaler Filmmusikwettbewerb 2021
Das Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich spielt unter der Leitung von Frank Strobel die Kompositionen der drei Nominierten des 9. Internationalen Filmmusikwettbewerbs. Zu Ehren von Mychael Danna, der am Abend mit dem ZFF Career Achievement Award ausgezeichnet wird, kommt Musik aus seinen Filmen zur Aufführung. Zudem wird das Baldenweg-Trio mit einem Medley ihrer Filmmusik geehrt, mit Unterstützung der Fondation Suisa.

Der alkoholabhängige Josef lebt verwahrlost in einem Zweifamilienhaus. Als seine Schwester mit ihrer 4-jährigen Tochter Nina in die zweite Wohnung einzieht, freunden sich Josef und das aufgeweckte Mädchen an. Nina hilft, ohne es zu ahnen, ihrem Onkel von seiner Sucht loszukommen. 35 Jahre später kreuzen sich ihre Wege erneut – nun ist es Nina, die Hilfe benötigt.
Komponist Martin Skalsky wird seine Musik während der Vorstellung live kommentieren.

Ein digitales Schweizer oder EU-COVID-Zertifikat als

• Nachweis der vollständigen Impfung
• Nachweis der erworbenen Immunität
• Nachweis eines negativen PCR-Tests oder ein negativer Antigentests (Lateral Flow), datiert innerhalb der letzten 24 Stunden (muss während STZ alle 24 Stunden erneuert werden)

Neben dem gültigen Covid-Zertifikat muss ein gültiger Lichtbildausweis vorgezeigt werden!

SoundTrack_Zurich

SoundTrack_Zurich ist ein europäischer Filmmusik-Kongress, der im Rahmen des Zurich Film Festival stattfindet. SoundTrack_Zurich präsentiert die Arbeit von Schweizer und europäischen Filmkomponist*innen auf Augenhöhe mit ihren internationalen Kolleg*innen. Der zweitägige Kongress bietet eine Reihe von Panels, Networking Sessions, Case Studies und Workshops rund um aktuelle Filmmusikthemen. Weitere Highlights sind Live-Konzerte und Special Screenings. Zurich Film Festival

Das Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) ist das größte Herbstfestival im deutschsprachigen Raum und präsentiert während 11 Tagen die schönsten Entdeckungen sowie die meist erwarteten Filme des Jahres. Das ZFF fördert den Austausch zwischen aufstrebenden Regisseurinnen und Regisseuren, arrivierten Filmschaffenden, der Filmindustrie und dem Publikum. Im Corona-Jahr 2020 konnte mit 165 Filmen ein vollumfängliches Programm erfolgreich physisch umgesetzt werden. Das ZFF verzeichnete 68'000 Zuschauer (2019: 117'000) und zog tausende akkreditierte Film- und Medienschaffende aus (fast) aller Welt an.
Die 17. Ausgabe findet vom 23. September bis 3. Oktober 2021 statt. Das Programm wird am 9. September veröffentlicht und ab 13. September sind Tickets erhältlich. – Time to Fall in Love With Movies!

They will be honoured with a Baldenweg film music medley at the International Film Music Competition Award Ceremony on Thursday, September 30.

The Swiss drama ‘Monté Veritá’ (2021) premiered at the major film festival Locarno. Composer Hauschka, director Stefan Jäger, sound designer and re-recording mixer Gina Keller and sound engineer Reto Stamm will talk about their joint work on the history drama in a case study.

The tracks should either be decidedly suitable as production music for TV reports and documentaries or as ‘additional music’ or songs in film; general film music stylistics are not desired.

International Film Music Competition 2021
The Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich will play the compositions of the three nominees of the 9th International Film Music Competition under the baton of Frank Strobel. In honour of Mychael Danna, who will receive the ZFF Career Achievement Award in the evening, music from his films will be performed. In addition, the Baldenweg trio will be honoured with a medley of their film music, with the support of Fondation Suisa.

The alcoholic Josef lives neglected in a two-family house. When his sister moves into the second apartment with her 4-year-old daughter Nina, Josef and the girl become friends. Without knowing it, Nina helps her uncle to overcome his addiction. 35 years later, their paths cross again - now it is Nina who needs help.
Composer Martin Skaskly will comment live on his music during the screening.

It resembles the nightmare metropolis Sin City: the fictitious Iranian ghost town Bad City. Here lives Arash together with his drug-addicted father. One night, as he roams the squalid alleys, he meets a mysterious girl – with a bloody secret… Amirpour’s great feature debut is scored live by Reverend Beat-Man and Milan Slick – an atmospheric melange consisting of guitar sounds and electronic beats.

SoundTrack_Zurich

SoundTrack_Zurich is a European film music conference taking place during the Zurich Film Festival. SoundTrack_Zurich presents the work of Swiss and European film composers at eye level with their international colleagues.The two day conference hosts an array of panels, networking sessions, case studies and workshops revolving around current film music topics. Further highlights are live concerts and special film screenings.
SoundTrack_Zurich is organised by the Swiss Media Composers Association in close collaboration with the Zurich Film Festival, SoundTrack_Cologne, Forum Filmmusik, Tonhalle-Gesellschaft Zürich, IMMSANE, ZHdK and Montreux Jazz Festival.

Zurich Film Festival

The Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) is the largest fall film festival in the German-speaking world. Over 11 days it presents the greatest discoveries and the year’s most anticipated movies. The ZFF facilitates exchange between upcoming directors, established filmmakers, the film industry and the general public. In the year of Corona 2020, the ZFF was able with great success to implement a physical and comprehensive 165-film programme, attracting 68’000 viewers (2019: 117’000) and thousands of accredited film and media workers from across (almost) the entire globe.
The 17th edition takes place from September 23 until October 03, 2021. The programme will be released on September 9 and tickets will be available from September 19. – Time to Fall in Love With Movies!
