Der Internationale Filmmusikwettbewerb 2023 beim ZFF

Der Kurzfilm AU REVOIR JÉRÔME! von Chloé Farr, Gabrielle Selnet und Adam Sillard wurde offiziell ausgewählt, um für die 11. Ausgabe des Internationalen Filmmusikwettbewerbs IFMW von den Teilnehmern vertont zu werden. Der Wettbewerb ist Teil des ZFF Zurich Film Festival (28. September - 8. Oktober 2023).

Wer sich für den vom ZFF, der Tonhalle-Gesellschaft Zürich und dem Forum Filmmusik organisierten Wettbewerb interessiert, kann hier den siebenminütigen Film kostenlos herunterladen, um an der Partitur für Sinfonieorchester zu arbeiten. Das Portal zum Hochladen der Anmeldeunterlagen (Partitur, MP3-Dateien mit Mockup und Click-Track) wird ab dem 3. April zur Verfügung stehen. Der Frühbucherpreis beträgt CHF 55 (bis 28. April). Die Gebühr für Nachzügler (Anmeldeschluss am 2. Juni) beträgt CHF 85.

Komponistinnen und Komponisten sowie Musikerinnen und Musiker jeden Alters, jeder Nationalität und jedes Wohnsitzes, die nicht mehr als drei Filme mit einer Länge von mehr als 60 Minuten (gemäss IMDb) vertont oder orchestriert haben, können sich für das Goldene Auge "Beste Internationale Filmmusik 2023" bewerben, das mit CHF10.000 dotiert ist.

Eine Jury aus international renommierten Musikschaffenden und Filmemachern nominiert aus den Einsendungen drei Werke. Das Tonhalle-Orchester spielt deren Partituren unter der Leitung von Frank Strobel im Rahmen des Filmmusikkonzerts am 30. September in der Tonhalle Zürich. Am gleichen Abend kürt eine Fachjury den Gewinner.

Die erste Woche des ZFF zeichnet sich durch einen besonderen Fokus auf Filmmusik aus, da neben dem IFMW auch SoundTrack_Zurich stattfindet: Die vierte Ausgabe von STZ findet vom 29.9. bis 1.10. statt und bietet drei intensive Tage mit Panels, Fallstudien, Workshops und Networking-Aktivitäten. Im Fokus steht die Förderung der Arbeit und Präsenz von Schweizer und europäischen Filmkomponisten.

Film Music Competition 2023

The short film AU REVOIR JÉRÔME! by Chloé Farr, Gabrielle Selnet, and Adam Sillard has been officially selected as the one to be scored for the 11th edition of the International Film Music Competition IFMC that will take place during the Zurich Film Festival ZFF (September 28 - October 8, 2023).

Those interested in the competition organized by the ZFF, the Tonhalle Association Zurich, and the Forum Filmmusik are invited to download here (free of charge) the 7-minute film to work on the score for symphony orchestra. The portal for uploading the registration documents (score, MP3 files with mockup, and click track) will be available from April 3. Early bird fee is CHF 55 (until April 28). The fee for late submission (deadline on June 2) is CHF 85.

Composers and musicians of any age, nationality, and place of residence who have scored or orchestrated no more than three films longer than 60 minutes (according to IMDb) will be eligible for the Golden Eye "Best International Film Music 2023", which also awards CHF 10,000.

A jury of internationally renowned music professionals and filmmakers will nominate three works from the submissions. The Tonhalle Orchestra will play their scores under the baton of Frank Strobel during the film music concert in the Tonhalle Zurich on September 30. On the same evening, a panel of experts will choose the winner.

The festival's first week will stand out for its special focus on music as SoundTrack_Zurich joins the IFMC. In its fourth edition, STZ will take place from September 29 to October 1, with three intense days of panels, case studies, workshops, and networking activities that aim to enhance the work and presence of Swiss and European film composers on the international scene.
