Reality Check - Music Politics

The licensing process for music on video games usually involves a full buy-out of all music rights - but how can SUISA members still work for games? And what is the European Union's and the Games Developers perspective on buy-out?

Marc du Moulin, secretary general of ECSA, Dr. Oliver Schmid, head of the legal department of SUISA, Alice Ruppert, president of the Swiss Game Developers Association SGDA, and Joel Schoch, games composer, will share their knowledge about Video Games and Buy Out. This panel will be hosted by Lysander Gelewski, head of SUISA, and Olav Lervik, composer.

Can AI-generated music be copyrighted? And how can I protect my existing music and, at the same time, get the best from AI? AI and Music Rights is the focus of the panel where Dr. Noah Martin, attorney at SUISA; Marc du Moulin, secretary general of ECSA, and the composers Michael Künstle and Matteo Pagamici will discuss about the use of AI and its legal nature. The panel is hosted by the composer Martin Skalsky.
