Die SRG ist für das Einkommen vieler Schweizer Film- und Werbemusik-Komponistinnen und -Komponisten zentral: Sie produziert unzählige Serien und Beiträge, und beauftragt hierfür Komponisten/innen. Zudem unterstützt sie das Schweizer Filmschaffenden und sendet einen grossen Teil der TV-Werbung. Durch die geplante Gebührensenkung von 335 auf 300 Franken und die drohende Annahme der Volksinitiative «SRG: 200 Franken sind genug!» (Halbierungsinitiative) stehen diese Einnahmen auf dem Spiel.
Welche Auswirkungen hätte dies auf Musikerinnen und Musiker – nicht nur im Film- und Werbebereich – und auf die gesamte Schweizer Kreativbranche, die dank der SRG auch Sichtbarkeit erhält? Welche Schritte kann die Politik unternehmen, um Kultur als zentralen Bestandteil des Service-Public-Auftrags zu sichern? Welche Strategien sind seitens der Musikerinnen und Musiker im Abstimmungskampf sinnvoll? Und wie kann die SUISA den möglichen Rückgang der Einnahmen aus Senderechten – zwischen 3 und 12 Mio. CHF – abfedern, etwa durch neue Erlösmodelle im VoD-Bereich?
