We would like to invite you to attend our Matchmaking Session on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, from 16:30-17:30 (04:30pm - 05:30pm) at the CUBE venue in the Zurich Film Festival centre.
The event is primarily aimed at women and is intended to link female composers and sound designers with female directors, music supervisors, publishers and producers.

Born in 1975 in Basel, Switzerland. 1996-2001 Attends ZHdK (Zürcher Hochschule der Künste), Film and Video Department. 2001 Receives degree from ZHdK. Since 2001 independent Director and Producer. Lives in Berlin and Basel.
Her first feature-length documentary NO MORE SMOKE SIGNALS (2008) premiered at the Locarno Film Festival - Semaine de la Critique and received the Swiss Film Award «Quartz» for Best Documentary in 2009, among many other awards. Her documentary IMMER UND EWIG (int. title: The Journey) premiered at DOK Leipzig and won the swiss film award «Quartz» 2020 for Best Documentary as well as Best Filmmusic and a nomination for Best Camera. Member of the Swiss and the European Film Academy.
BACKValerie Dobbelaere studied Iberian linguistics & literature as well as Peace Studies and ConflictResolution at the Ghent University in Belgium.In 2007Valeriestarted working at the guest office of Film Fest Gent, whereshe, between 2010 and2019,coordinates the music and sound projects (concert productions, masterclasses, compositioncontest, the annual World Soundtrack Awards, album recording, industry events, internationalcollaborations,..)and lovesestablishing the necessary platform tobothestablished andyoung &upcoming film (music) talent.Valerie has worked with several renowned composers such as HowardShore, Hans Zimmer, Elliot Goldenthal, James Newton Howard,Alberto Iglesias,Giorgio Moroder andAlexandre Desplat.Since 2017 Valeriejoined Post Bills, aBrussels-based Press & Communication Agency,specializing inPR for film, TV &filmmusic projects.
BACKMilena Fessmann has been running RBB since 1998, in addition to her many years as a DJ in various clubs and as a presenter on Radio Eins. She has been modering events, panels, press conferences etc. such as "Reeperbahnfestival, c/o Pop and SoundTrack_Cologne since 2014, is a graduate political scientist and gives seminars on the topic of "music supervising" at the DFFB. She is Advisory Board Member of the World Soundtrack Academy and member of the European Film Academy.
BACKKarin Heberlein trained as an actress at Central School of Speech & Drama in London. She worked for various theatres in the UK, co-wrote and performed with a number of ensembles, and toured festivals across the globe. Her focus shifted to film after attending the Master Class programme at the NFTS/Met Film School. In 2013 she received a scholarship for the Drehbuchwerkstatt München at the HFF. Since then she has worked as a writer and director. SAMI, JOE AND I, her first feature film, is playing at the ZFF.
BACKAfter studying the German language, literature, philosophy, pedagogy, psychology and performing arts at the MLU Halle-Wittenberg, HBK Braunschweig and UDK Berlin universities, Kristina was awarded her PhD Educational Science from the MLU Halle-Wittenberg in 2020 with her thesis “Film in School Books”. Since 2015 she has headed the Film Education section at Braunschweig International Film Festival. In this function she has made more than 30 films with and by children. Her own film and theatre projects, including seven short films, three music videos and the experimental featurelength film “Ungleich”, for which she was one of four directors, explore the links between film, theatrical enactments and improvisation. Her directorial debut feature-length documentary “The Sound of Cologne” (in post-production) was supported by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW fund and will be cinematically distributed by Real Fiction. Her second documentary „Regretting Motherhood“ is currently developed in the Documentary Campus Masterschool 2020. Schippling publishes short stories in anthologies and magazines, and her novella “Drei Gesichter” was published by Mitteldeutscher Verlag.
BACKAma Walton is a media lawyer, business mediator and speaker. She is an established expert in the entertainment industry with a focus on music and film law as well as cooperative negotiation and conflict resolution. For the last three years she was in the board of BMG Rights Management GmbH as their global General Counsel and CHRO. Prior to BMG she was managing director of the music companies of Constantin Film AG and before that in the management team of EMI Music Germany GmbH & Co. KG as their leading lawyer.
BACKAzra Djurdjevic studied German, English and Comparative Literatures in Bern and Berlin and graduated with a Master of Arts. She’s been working in the film industry since 2009, having had various jobs as production manager, location manager or assistant director for short films, feature films and commercials.
Since 2015 she works as a producer in the commercial industry having produced numerous commercials and campaigns for reputable clients. Since 2018 she works at Filmgerberei, a production company focused on commercials as wells as feature and documentary films.
Her first feature-length documentary, a piece about Roger Federer and his South African roots, is currently in postproduction.
She is an executive committee member of SWAN Swiss Women’s Audiovisual Network.
BACKTina Pepper is an award-winning television and film composer based in Berlin. She started her career while studying music at the renowned Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) and went on studying at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF where she eventually graduated with a Master in film music. Amongst others she has since written music for award winning films like ‘Combat Girl’ (David Wnendt) and ‘Teardrop’ (Damian John Harper), independent features such as ‘Away you go’ (Philipp Eichholtz) and for the Amazon original series ‘You Are Wanted’ (Matthias Schweighöfer). In 2020 she was awarded the German Television Award for Best Music for her score for the German TV Series 'Rampensau’.
BACKOlivia Pedroli is a singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist from Switzerland. She has released four studio albums, which have enabled her to explore different musical directions, tour extensively and collaborate with international artists, thereby defining a very personal style. She has also written scores for cinema and the theatre and has created several audiovisual installations.
She was nominated in 2012 at the Swiss Film Award for her work on the documentary film Hiver Nomade (Winter Nomads) by Manuel Von Sturler (European Film Academy, Documentary film 2012). She also composed the soundtrack of Immer und Ewig (The Journey – a story of love) by Fanny Braüning (Prix de Soleure 2019, Zürcher Filmpreis 2019, Swiss Film Award 2020). Olivia Pedroli was nominated for the German Documentary Film Music Award at the DOK of Münich 2019 and won the Swiss Film Award 2020, Best Music Score.
