SUISA's Noah Martin (General Secretary) and Andres Pfister (Musicologist) will clarify when, and under what circumstances, it is possible to use third-party, copyright-protected material as "pastiche" (e.g., through music sampling, remixes, or memes) without the authors' permission, in light of the European Court of Justice's ruling on pastiche issued in April this year.
Sync agent and music supervisor Hanna-Greth Peetson will lead a workshop on how metadata can help boost a sync placement and what to consider when refining existing metadata. Through practical examples, she will offer clear and actionable tips to improve visibility and opportunities for professionals involved in the audiovisual industries.
