Meet the high profile composers of SoundTrack_Zurich 07
Featuring nearly 70 speakers and matchmakers, who will participate in 25 case studies, panels, workshops and networking activities, the 7th edition of SoundTrack_Zurich (STZ07) once again offers a broad spectrum of events designed to strengthen the connection between the music, film and television industries.
STZ07 welcomes composer Gabriel Yared, who will receive the Career Achievement Award as part of the Zurich Film Festival in recognition of his outstanding career in film. An Oscar, Golden Globe, Grammy and BAFTA winner for THE ENGLISH PATIENT, Yared will be one of the highlights of the STZ programme with a talk on Wednesday, September 30. His work reflects remarkable cultural breadth, spanning iconic films such as THE LIVES OF OTHERS, BETTY BLUE and CITY OF ANGELS.
Programme highlights include case studies on the music of recent, notable projects featured at the Zurich Film Festival. Swiss composer Mirjam Skal will join director Mauro Mueller for a case study talk on their collaboration on 111: ECHOES FROM HALIFAX (ZFF Gala Premiere), and will also discuss her work on BLIND and ENJOY YOUR STAY, both featured at the 22nd edition of the ZFF. DUA, shortlisted in the Feature Film Competition at ZFF, will be the focus of a talk by French composer Audrey Ismaël. A case study on EUROTRASH, selected as a ZFF Gala Premiere, will be presented by its composer, Anna Drubich.
2026 ZFF Portrait Composers, Michael Künstle and Matteo Pagamici (HORS SAISON, SISI & ICH, NEUMATT), will lead a workshop at STZ07. Moreover, a couple of case studies will spotlight not only music but also sound: SEVDA (ZFF Feature Film Competition) with sound designer Vuk Vukmanović, and I LOVE YOU, I LEAVE YOU (winner of the Best Documentary and Audience Award at ZFF 2025) with sound designer Kathleen Moser.
Additionally, STZ07 will offer talks and workshops on topics including metadata, AI tools, production music, transferring music from MIDI to orchestra, and the lifecycle of sync placements. As part of the networking events, the Matchmakings will offer the opportunity to meet around 50 matchmakers in one-to-one meetings.
